Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By downloading, installing, or using SQL-Shield (“the Software”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

2. License Grant

SQL-Shield is available under two models:

  • Trial License: A free 14-day evaluation license for non-production use. Limited to a single instance.
  • Commercial License: A paid license granting use in production environments for the duration of the subscription period.

3. Restrictions

You may not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
  • Remove or alter license validation mechanisms
  • Redistribute or sublicense the Software without prior written consent
  • Use the Software beyond the scope of your license type
  • Share your license key with unauthorized parties

4. Intellectual Property

The Software, including all code, documentation, and branding, is the intellectual property of SQL-Shield. Your license grants usage rights only — no ownership or IP rights are transferred.

5. Subscription & Payment

  • Commercial licenses are billed on a subscription basis (monthly or annual).
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • Refunds are available within 14 days of purchase if the Software has not been deployed in production.
  • Prices may change with 30 days' advance notice.

6. Trial Terms

The trial period is 14 days from first activation. After expiry, the proxy will gracefully shut down. No credit card is required for the trial. Trial use is limited to evaluation and testing purposes.

7. Support

  • Trial users: Community support via GitHub Issues.
  • Licensed users: Priority email support with 24-hour response time during business days.

8. Availability & Uptime

SQL-Shield is self-hosted software. We are not responsible for uptime, availability, or performance of your deployment. We provide the software as-is for you to operate on your own infrastructure.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SQL-Shield shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of the Software, including but not limited to data loss, downtime, or security breaches. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Software is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your specific requirements.

11. Termination

We may terminate your license if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies. Sections regarding intellectual property, liability, and dispute resolution survive termination.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which SQL-Shield operates. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration.

13. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via email or website notice.
